- This webpage provides different bathymetry and elevation data from different sources such as the US. National Ocean Service, and US. Geological Survey. It allows the user to download data in different ways (i.e. creating a GRID or searching the desired location).
- NOAA Data Access Viewer - https://coast.noaa.gov/dataviewer/#/lidar/search/
- NOAA Data Viewer is a web map where users can search or draw their area of interest. After selecting an area, all the available elevation/bathymetry datasets will show at the right of the screen. To download data: (1) add to the cart the desired datasets, (2) choose the right projection and, (3) request the data by providing your email where you will receive link to download the datasets. Please note both raw lidar or raster processed datasets may be available. To agile the data processing, it is recommended to use the DEM files datasets. Also, at the Cart, if necessary, users can apply the same projection parameters by copying the same Projection and Datums from a previous dataset requested.
- If several datasets types are being added to the cart, make sure to select the DEM data to activate the vertical datum selection option. Also, when choosing a Vertical Datum, users will received a bathymetry/DEM clipped using the selected vertical datum.
- For further instructions on how to download data see the Data Access Viewer Help Document.
- Note: User’s selected vertical datums for bathymetry/elevation must match the user's water surface elevation (WSE) data vertical datum (example: waves and tides data).

Users can generate reports of a selected area using the “Ocean Reports” tool. By drawing an area, a report with “Oceanographic and Biophysical”, “ Natural Resources and Conservation” and more will be created. These reports often include the average hurricane activity, temperature, salinity, wave direction, currents, pressure and salinity information. The latter, could be used inside Salinity/Temperature tab on the CMS-Flow Model Control of SMS. In general, this tool is useful to get familiar with a study area.
